The location of this hotel is perfect for exploring Old Quebec because everything is withing walking distance, however it is very much a 'no frills' hotel. The room was clean with a double bed, small TV, facing the Chateau Frontenac. The staff were plesant and helpful. Apparently the hotel is WiFi equipped but it seems that it is intermittent and didn't work for the time we were there.

This inn is in the most perfect location. In the middle of everything!!! Right across from the Frontenac and the promenade, next to a lovely big park where many relax, next to the stairs that go down to the lower area, and there's a hum of activity all around it with performers and artist's allies. The inside is just OK, not bad, but maybe just average. They have nice murals on the walls and our room was renovated, had 2 beds, and room on the floor for our blow up mattress for our 3rd kid and 5 suitcases, and looked out over the artist ally and cute restaurant with outside tables. The bathroom was small but very clean and water pressure was nice. It was room 37. I would definitely recommend it for how cute it is on the outside- just adorable!!! and its amazing location! That's why I gave it a 5 star- all that outweighed the average inside to me.

My wife and I stayed two nights, and have to say we had a great time. We had a package that included four course gourmet dinners with wine and full breakfasts for two, plus free parking. Our room facing the street was small, but adequate. The inn's location in the center of Quebec City, and opposite the Chateau Frontenac was so convenient. The service in the restaurant was impeccable, and the food was outstanding. The hotel staff was friendly and competent. Great restaurant, would go back in a heart beat.

What a wonderful treasure in a great location. I have stayed at this hotel twice. The first time I went, I was a bit disappointed with the room, it was on the back side of the hotel so seemed quite dark. the water pressure in the shower wasn't that great. however, the location is fabulous.....we parked the car for the weekend and walked everywhere, as this is directly across from the Chateau Frontenac. What really stands out is the amazing dinner that was a part of our package. A truly gourmet experience. My sister, mother and I returned again this year in the spring and requested a room at the front of the hotel. I loved to stay up at night and watch people from the room. Again, our gourmet meal was incredible. This time, we knew the trick to have a good shower. The owner/managers are wonderful and we always feel so welcome. A fabulous place to stay...

The perfect location for our three night post-cruise getaway. The hotel is directly across Place d'Armes from the Chateau Frontenac, next door to the tourist office, and across the street from the post office. If you can tolerate the steep set of stairs you have to climb to the registration office, then everything else is perfect. We were on the second floor (same level as the office) all the way at the end of the hall. We faced the Chateau Frontenac, and could see the funicular from our corner room. I have read several reviews saying that the rooms were small, but we had a really spacious and lovely room, including a very nice bathroom that looked like it had been remodeled fairly recently. There is a bistro and a fine dining restaurant on the first floor, and the food was fabulous at both. We had breakfast and lunch in the bistro, and one dinner in the fine dining restaurant, and everything was superb. The location allowed us to walk pretty much everywhere, including outside old town, and we found some wonderful shops and restaurants along the way. We hope to visit Quebec again, and would not hesitate to stay at the Auberge du Tresor.
