My husband and I decided to visit Quebec City for New Year’s 2008. New Year’s is a very special holiday for the two of us since it is the day we meet and to the day 7 years later that he proposed. Therefore, any place we visit on this special occasion must live up to the special ness this day holds for us. Hotel le Clos Saint-Louis lived up to these standards. From the moment we arrived we were greeted by friendly staff, a quaint atmosphere and a fantastically romantic room. We stayed in room 26 on the top floor and thoroughly enjoyed the colonial cottage type décor. Although the hotel was completely booked our stay was always extremely quiet and we felt as though we were the focus of attention at all times by staff. Paul (the concierge) greeted us enthusiastically every morning. He was not only a pleasure to talk to, but he was also very informative and helpful with all questions we had. The breakfast that is included with the room rate was not your typical continental breakfast that large chain hotels serve. We were instead seated in a small quaint dining room in the basement where we were given a menu with a few choices that were then prepared in the kitchen right before us. The best part of our stay was getting to know the few staff that preformed multiple tasks throughout the hotel and did so with such enthusiasm it could not help but be contagious. In all, we will definitely be back maybe as soon as this spring and we highly recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to have a memorable stay in Quebec City!

We recently went to Quebec City for the first time, spending four nights at Le Clos Saint-Louis. While we had some idea of what the hotel would be like, it far exceeded our expectations. The hotel has been lovingly restored with warm colors and beautiful furnishings. The staff was friendly and each guest was made to feel welcome. Paul was very attentive and full of wounderful recommendations for everything from imformative daytime excursions to romantic dinners. Madame Donais greeted us each morning at breakfast with a warm smile and a cheerful "Bonjour", asking how we liked our room and if we slept comfortably. Our experience at Le Clos Saiint-Louis was delightful in every way and we look forward to our next visit.

It’s difficult to add to what’s already been said - - this is a unique, romantic, clean, well-situated place about a 10-minute walk from the heart of old Quebec City. Our room was European in charm, yet North American in size and comfort, with a lovely bathroom featuring a whirlpool bath. It overlooked a quiet street and church. Be warned: lots of stairs, up and down. Breakfast (which was –really- good) is down several of them. Our room was at the –top- of several more. We didn’t mind, but some travelers might. Receptionists all spoke perfect English, and were cordial, but not talkative. Location and charm were its best features - - stairs its worst. Overall, it’s a winner.

We stayed for 5 nights in the run up to new year 2008. Quebec is a wonderful city and this hotel is an excellent base to discover it from. We stayed in the gorgeous room 6 which had a whirlpool bathtub and a bed so comfortable that it was very difficult to get up every morning. The staff are very friendly and helpful and I would like to make a particular recommendation of Paul Emile who was our oracle in terms of history and what to do in the city. The hotel is beautifully furnished with lots of period detail and it just takes you back to another era. It was so good that we`ve already booked another stay...
